Sweet Spotlights: Maddy Hicks' Hall of Shame

Jonnica Hill
A pefectly relatable pop EP from singer-songwriter Maddy Hicks.

About The EP:

Hall of Shame is the most recent project from 24-year-old singer-songwriter Maddy Hicks, a genre-blending artist who has been writing and performing her original songs for over a decade.

This five-track EP is a truly heartfelt confessional, capturing both sadness and optimism amidst heartbreak. The EP’s title track is an ultra-catchy, playful and sarcastic slice-of-life soundtrack, while “untitled” draws the curtain on the EP, as well as a hollow-feeling relationship.

In just these few songs, it’s clear that Maddy has a knack for transporting listeners to an exact time, place and feeling. Whether you can relate to the stories she shares or are just along for an enjoyable pop listening experience, you can’t go wrong when it comes to Maddy Hicks!

Favourite Lyric:

“I'm collecting people who hurt me

So I can rotate between them

And maybe not hurt as badly

And maybe learn how to leave them

It's going ok

Some of them broke away

Somehow that hurt worse

Thought they would hurt first.”

— From "Roster"
